Why Combined Wins

One Method Kills the Infestation. The Other Keeps It Gone.

Most companies make you choose: a multi-visit spray programme, or a heat treatment. We’ve never understood why — the two methods solve different problems, and together they close every gap.

Heat: total elimination on the day

Industrial heaters raise every room past 56°C — lethal to adults, nymphs and, crucially, eggs. Insecticide resistance is irrelevant, and heat reaches wall voids, mattress seams and furniture joints that no spray can. This is what actually ends an infestation in one visit.

Spray: a residual barrier afterwards

Before we leave, our technicians apply a professional residual insecticide to key harbourage points. It does nothing heat hasn’t already done — its job is the weeks after: if a stray bed bug arrives home in luggage or a school bag, it crosses a treated surface and dies before it can restart anything.

Together: belt and braces

Spray-only programmes leave you living with bed bugs between visits and often miss eggs. Heat-only leaves nothing alive but no ongoing protection. Combined treatment does both jobs — and because we’re applying the spray while we’re already in your home, it costs you nothing extra.

How a Combined Treatment Actually Works

1

Inspection & setup

Room-by-room inspection maps the infestation. Heaters, ducting and circulation fans are positioned; wireless sensors monitor temperatures throughout.

2

The heat phase

Every room is raised past 56°C and held there. Furniture stays in place — heat penetrates mattresses, sofas, skirting voids and electronics-safe zones are managed by our technicians.

3

The residual barrier

As rooms cool, professional residual insecticide is applied to harbourage points and entry routes — the same product we sell as a standalone spray, included free.

4

Sign-off & guarantee

You get a written prevention guide and our 60-day written guarantee. Any detected activity within 60 days and we return free.

Questions

Combined Treatment FAQ

01What is the most effective treatment for bed bugs?

A combined approach: whole-property heat treatment to kill every live stage — adults, nymphs and eggs — in a single visit, followed immediately by a residual chemical barrier that protects against any bugs reintroduced afterwards. Heat alone is excellent; heat plus residual spray is belt and braces.

02Do I need a spray as well as heat treatment?

Heat kills everything present on the day, including eggs. The residual spray isn’t there to finish the job — it’s there to guard against reintroduction, for example a bug carried back in on a work bag a week later. We include it on every heat treatment at no extra cost.

03Is one visit really enough to get rid of bed bugs?

Yes — for heat treatment. A single visit raises every room to a temperature lethal to all bed bug life stages, so there’s nothing left to hatch afterwards. Multi-visit programmes are a feature of spray-only treatments, which can’t reliably kill eggs on the first pass.

04How much does combined heat and spray treatment cost?

The residual spray is included free with every heat treatment, so you only pay the heat treatment price — priced per room and fixed before you book. See our UK cost guide for typical prices, or message us on WhatsApp for a fixed quote.

05Does heat treatment get rid of bed bugs permanently?

It eliminates the infestation completely — and our written 60-day guarantee backs that. Nothing can make a property permanently immune to a new introduction, which is exactly why the residual barrier and our prevention advice matter.

§07

How Much Does Bed Bug Heat Treatment Cost?

Heat treatment is priced by the size of the area that has to be brought up to lethal temperature — not by how many bugs you have. Every job is quoted as a fixed price before we start, from a short description of your property over the phone. No call-out fee, no VAT surprises and no per-room extras added on the day.

Why is heat treatment more involved than a spray?

With heat you are paying for equipment and time rather than chemicals. A heat job means bringing industrial heaters, ducting and fans into your property, monitoring the temperature in every room for hours, and a technician on site for most of a day. That reflects a real difference in what gets killed: heat reaches the eggs inside furniture voids, sprays do not.

Is heat treatment worth it?

For an established infestation, usually yes — and often it works out cheaper overall. Repeat spray visits add up, and each failed round gives the infestation more time to spread to the next room. One heat treatment with a 60-day guarantee removes that risk. For a genuinely early problem caught in a single room, our chemical spray is the sensible place to start and we will tell you so.
